This exhibition includes new sculptures, drawings, and 2D fabric works that navigate the intersections of comfort, discipline, and social frameworks.

In “On Track,” Hecht uses sports as a metaphor for broader social conditions, with a particular focus on the running track—an evocative symbol for life’s race and its inherent challenges. The exhibition features two notable stuffed sculptures, “Uphold 1” and “Uphold 2” (both 10x12x4 inches), which juxtapose the softness of a bed with structured forms. Alongside these, the exhibition includes both flat and three-dimensional works, many of which are framed in wood. These pieces, crafted with a sensitivity to material and form, cast shadows, reveal imperfect corners, and display stitching, reflecting a meticulous yet expressive approach.

Hecht’s practice is characterized by deceptive simplicity and thematic depth. “On Track” delves deeply into these ongoing explorations, marking a continuation of Hecht’s artistic inquiry.
